Bergamot and pink pepper open Emarati Oud with a sharp, bright snap. It is deliberately brief — within minutes the fragrance turns to oud and amber, and there it stays for most of its life.

The base is where it distinguishes itself. Leather, vetiver and musk give the dry-down a dry, faintly smoky texture, with vetiver introducing an earthy bitterness that works directly against the sweetness of the amber. Few fragrances at this price attempt that kind of contrast.

Best in cold weather, where the woods have room to open.
